Aquatic Centre images

Postby rdavies1973 » Tue Aug 21, 2012 9:35 am

Hi all

Three images from an Aquatic Centre I'm currently working as part of my studies. As the main Revit user in this group of students I went nuts as usual.

Really nice images :)

The "fins" with the matrix of holes in them- are these extrusions? ie I assume the holes are "rea" and not a surface pattern you have applied to a solid?

Great work ;)

Any chance of seeing the whoe project- ie moving the camera further out so we can see the scheme in it's entirety?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Guys

The 'fins' are sweeps with the path being only approx 200mm long with the profile being the fin shape. I use this process a lot ... including the dolphin shapes and oddball mulions.

The material is plain ol' metal with a 'relief' cut out of it. Access this by going into the 'Appearance Properties' ---> 'Relief Pattern' withinthe material editor. This is part of the joy of been a teacher ... one of my students researched this and told me! Quite often they'll learn something new and pass on the info to me. Nice students.
