Hedges

Has anybody got a good way of modelling a hedge in 3d?
i'm pretty sure I could do an extruded shape along a path but I guess my hedge would be pretty uniform and wall like...
don't fancy the idea of placing loads of individual 3d plants next to one another as this would kill my machine with render regen time.
Over to the forum for best practice...

As far as I am aware, hedges have always been elusive in Revit :(

The only two methods I have used in the past (both far from satisfactory) are:-

-a custom wall type- with a green foliage material all over
-a number of 3D plants overlapping along a path.

both pretty naff solutions in the scheme of things.
Come on Autodesk- start concentrating on External Works for a change- an architectural scheme is more than just a building :)

The site tools in Revit really piss me off. It's about time they got a proper overhaul. It's very hard to create realistic looking exterior renders. Kerbing is another example where Revit falls short. Yes, there are workarounds, but it's hardly an ideal solution.

Yep- they haven't really progressed over that last few years :(
