Modelling a tiny castle-like building - best practice?

Hi all,

Can anyone share tips or tricks, how is the best practice to model a building with walls and openings like in the pictures below? Or is it reasonable at all to try something like that?
Stacked walls and/or sweeps and reveals? How to do battlement with "sloped bottom"? And those lintels..
Any clues are welcome.
