Massing

Postby nealmac » Sat Mar 20, 2010 2:54 pm

Are there any good tutorials covering how to do this from scratch? Anything I've found seems to want the user to be familiar with Massing, and kinda starts from something that's a bit too advanced for me.

Thanks.

Hi :)

I did have some lengthy tutorials on massing over at the old Revit Zone website. I was in two minds about bringing them over to the new site- however they are based on the old pre-2010 Revit interface- which means all the screens shots in the tutorials are wrong- ie where to find a particular command, etc. I did think about updating them- but then decided that it's probably best just starting from scratch.

I am (in the very near future) going to be writing a series of articles on the "Conceptual Design Environment" that came along with the 2010 release. As part of that I will cover massing from from scratch.

But if you want to discuss massing now and have any questions- we can get a bit of a dialogue going here?

Cheers,
Ian

Do you still have those tutorials to hand? I don't mind if they're based on older versions of Revit.

Basically, I just want to figure out how to get started, and do the whole process of making (shapes?) and then turning them into a finished product.

Let me know if this link works OK.....

http://www.revitzone.co.uk/index.php?op ... &Itemid=34

I suspect it has lost all formatting and images? It won;t wokr from my works PC but DOES work from my laptop at home. You should see the text OK.

If it does work, I'll post the links to all trhe other massing articles. If it doesn;t work, I'll try and copy and paste the articles (with images) into this formum.

Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for letting me know. I'll try and get at least the first tutorial up and running on here tonight- I may be able to get more- web connection is slow at home- so it depends on the speed that I can retrieve the images from the web server.

Cheers,
Ian

That's strange, because I missed it too. I only noticed because Ian posted.

Good video. I'll check out all 3 parts later.
