Color Fill Schemes not working when changing room names

Postby runeroan » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:23 am

We have created our color palette as “Color Fill Schemes” in a separate default project file, and transferred this file into Vilnius (or other) projects with “Manage -> Transfer Project Standards”.
As soon as we change room names in models, Revit picks new random color (Pantone or RGB) and we lose control with our pre-defined color palette. We want to change room names and keep our color palette. Possible?

Hi :) and welcome to our community.

Yes, this is a real pain with Revit Colour Schemes. I dont think there's any way around it- We are asking Revit to actually produce a different colour for each different room name. So when we change room names, Revit has to change it to 'something'- and it needs to retain control of the colour choice so that it can ensure that the colour does not conflict with any already in use.

But I do share your frustration. Revit has always dealt with colour schemes in this manner. What it needs is a "Retain Colour" checkbox next to each entry in the schedule- so that you can se the colour and force it to retain it.

Ian
