I need some free CAD software to make a very simple design? Basically, I am an Undergradate and need some free online CAD software to make a simple designs. These designs will be saved and transported to a machine in my lab that will use the design to make a pattern on a substrate.

Hi there :)

Did you find any free CAD software? With the greatest of respect, I would Google "Free CAD Soaftware" and see what comes back.

As you say you want to be able to use it with a CNC-type machine in your lab, I would have thought that that would be the starting point- ie what file format does you Lab machine accept? That will dictate (to a certain extent) what software you can use to produce your designs.

Hope this helps,
